Platycerium Bifurcatum - One of eighteen species. Very hardy, quite common and pups profusely. This is the staghorn fern that you will find at most nurseries, hence this is the fern that most people are familiar with and will have in their backyard. If given the right conditions this platycerium will become a massive ball of ferns given 5 to 8 years. Along the coast this fern can take temperatures down below 40 and above 90 degrees. I fertilize every 3rd or 4th watering with a miracle gro or superthrive. Again, quite a forgiving species and a great one to start out with.

There are different size mountings of the bifurcatum that are currently available for sale. If interested please e-mail me at tomsstaghornferns@gmail.com.
